Listening Ears | Have A Word
Private | Remote | In Person
There are many reasons you might consider going to private Therapy.
Listening Ears, HAVE A WORD offers a flexible session availability to suit your schedule. It is my passion to create affordable and convenient sessions within your life - especially if you have difficulty leaving the house or using transport to get to a session. Listening Ears offers an initial FREE session, over the telephone to create opportunity for to ask questions.
It is really important that you feel comfortable and ask plenty of questions during an introductory call, to gain trust in the person you are talking to. Getting the most out of the sessions can sometimes feel difficult, but there are positive steps you can take before you begin with, starting with these questions:
Am I ready to explore my thoughts, feelings and behaviours?
Do I feel able to open up about things that are very personal or hard to talk about?
Is there anything else I need help with first: housing, legal or financial issues?
Some clients feel isolated and have no one else to talk to, but even people with supportive family and friends can find it difficult to talk to loved ones about feeling anxious or depressed. They may find it easier to talk about personal, family or relationship issues with an independent professional Therapist.
Therapy involves a series of formal sessions where the Therapist and the client talk about the client’s issues and feelings. Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place at a regular, agreed time in a safe and private place.
Therapy can involve talking about:
- Life Events
- Feelings and Emotions
- Relationships
- Ways of Thinking
- Patterns of Behaviour
As your Therapist, I will listen, encourage and empathise but will also challenge your perspective. This will help you to see issues through a different lens, and perhaps with different opportunity and choice.

I cannot thank you enough for helping me get to the the place I am now, which is more happy and settled than I have felt in a very long time.
You have helped me through a very difficult period for which I am forever thankful. You are a precious person.

Online Session
Online platform, mutually agreed to create ease of use and engagement. There is absolutely no need to turn the camera on during your session, however it will be encouraged to do so. You will see me, throughout the session and a headset is encouraged.
Evening Availability
Sessions can be created to suit your life and It is my passion to create flexible support. Evenings can sometimes be the most vulnerable for those people living with mental health issues, including when experiencing high periods of stress.
Telephone Session
Telephone sessions are just like a face to face session, however I believe in creating a different option for your convenience. Not everyone can leave the house easily or access services in travelling distance. Telephone sessions eliminate the worry of using a camera.
Weekend Availability
Thoughts, issues and worries do not stop at the weekend. It is important that the option of a weekend therapy session is available on request. There is a higher fee for this.

If you know someone has been unwell, don’t be afraid to ask how they are.
They might want to talk about it, or they might not. But just letting them know they don’t have to avoid the issue with you is important.
Spending time with your loved one lets them know you care, and can help you understand what they’re going through.
The Have A Word Facebook page encourages people to think more about mental health and the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Lucy's Note

Empathy is the source of every client-therapist relationship I create, right from the very beginning. Empathy is the ability to recognise, understand and share the thoughts and feelings of another person. Developing empathy is crucial for establishing relationships and behaving compassionately. It involves experiencing another person’s point of view and enables helpful behaviours that come from within, rather than being forced. Whether it be short or long term support that is required, I encourage you to start the journey and hear how private, flexible Therapy sessions can help you.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Therapy | Advanced Coaching

I am an ethically trained professional NLP Practitioner and Advanced Coach using leadership development techniques and personal transformation processes. NLP is a pseudoscientific approach to communication, personal development and psychotherapy (created in the 70s). The goals of NLP are to help a client understand that the way a person views the world affects how a person operates (behaves) in the world. It is necessary to change the thoughts and behaviour patterns that have not proven beneficial or helpful in the past to create a better way of life - a happier, healthier way of being.
NLP is used to treat:
- Phobias
- Anxiety
- Low self-esteem
- Stress
- PTSD
It is my passion to continue learning different approaches and blending skills to create my own style and way of working with clients - wonderful people like you. I just love meeting people, in many contexts and enjoy finding out more about you so I can find ways of helping, supporting - healing. I believe in creating a simple but effective therapy session for self-exploration in a safe, non-judgemental environment that will work towards equipping a person with helpful tools and strategies to move forward into a healthier and happier way of life.
